Resumen
Resumen: Este ensayo se enmarca en una investigación que piensa el diseño en la cultura material y semiótica. Hace foco en las marcaciones señaléticas de la ciudad de La Plata colocadas en la primera mitad del s.XX. A partirdel relevamiento de componentes urbanos de la ciudad de La Plata, se propone una reflexión acerca de la señalética enlozada aún en uso. Estas señales, instaladas en los muros de las esquinas,tienen un su propio valor patrimonial y su vigencia sugiere unaserie de preguntas tales como:¿cuál es el sentido de los números y los nombres en ellas?,¿qué expresan los mismos en términos culturales?,¿es posible bosquejar un espíritu de época a partir de estas señales y las inscripciones que ellas contienen?
Abstract: This essay is part of a research that thinks design in material and semiotic culture. It focuses on the La Plata signage markings installed on the first part of the twentieth century. Based on the survey of La Plata urban components, it proposes a reflection about the enamel signage still in use. These signs, installed on the corners, have their own heritage value. Their validity gives rise to a series of questions such as: What is the meaning of numbers and names? What do they express in cultural terms? Is it possible to sketch a spirit of the times from these signs and their inscriptions?
