Resumen
Resumen: Luego de la fundación de la ciudad de La Plata en 1882, la rapidez de su edificación generó una escasez de materiales de construcción. Esto fue solucionado temporalmente, importando edificios prefabricados desde los Estados Unidos, para diferentes usos. La mayoría fueron destinados a viviendas de los primeros trabajadores y funcionarios públicos que llegaron a la ciudad; pero también hubo otras construcciones traídas para diferentes usos, tales como servir de templos católicos e incluso para una usina eléctrica.
Abstract: After the founding of the city of La Plata in 1882, the speed of its construction generated a shortage of construction materials. This was temporarily solved by importing prefabricated buildings from the United States for different uses. Most were destined for homes of the first workers and public officials who arrived to the city; but there were also other constructions brought for different uses, such as serving as Catholic temples and even for an electric power plant.
