dc.description.abstract	Resumen: El presente trabajo tiene como propósito demostrar cómo el espacio antártico constituye un ámbito de cooperación internacional. En este sentido, se analizará el papel de los diferentes actores en la cuestión antártica en general, y la importancia para Argentina en particular, utilizando la Teoría de la Interdependencia Compleja (Keohane & Nye, 1988). Esta nos permitirá observar de manera más clara la interacción entre los diferentes actores, la variedad de temas en juego, y cómo las normas de protección y conservación de recursos establecidos en el Sistema del Tratado Antártico (STA) añaden complejidad a la situación. El punto de partida para el análisis será la reciente confirmación de los estudios realizados por el buque ruso de investigación polar Alexander Karpinsky, los cuales revelan la existencia de millones de toneladas de petróleo y gas enterrados bajo la plataforma antártica.
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how the Antarctic region serves as a space for international cooperation. In this sense, the role of the different actors in the Antarctic issue will be analyzed, with special focus on Argentina, using the theory of complex Interdependence. This will allow for a clearer understanding of the interaction between actors, the range of issues at stake and how the resource protection and conservation rules set out by the Antarctic Treaty System (AST) add complexity to the situation. The starting point of the analysis will be the recent confirmation of studies carried out by the Russian polar research vessel Alexander Karpinsky, which revealed the existence of millions of tons of oil and gas buried under the Antarctic shelf.
