dc.description.abstractResumen: En los últimos años de su vida Cicerón comenzó con una etapa de escritura filosófica que dista, en gran medida, de los discursos oratorios que caracterizaron su anterior producción intelectual. Este “cambio” en su escritura ha motivado la realización de este trabajo, ya que el mismo busca determinar cuál ha sido uno de los móviles que conllevaron a Cicerón a producir, en esta etapa, gran parte de su obra filosófica. A juzgar por la aceptación que el epicureísmo tenía en la República romana del siglo I a. C. y por las numerosas alusiones que Cicerón realizó en sus escritos filosóficos (también llamados Escritos tardíos) a la doctrina ética de Epicuro, se determina que una de las razones de la filosofía ciceroniana ha sido la crítica a la concepción epicúrea de Bien. Con esta tarea, Cicerón buscó advertir a sus conciudadanos acerca de la peligrosidad del epicureísmo, ya que, según el arpinate, esta filosofía implicaba un enorme riesgo para la República. Este trabajo también destaca las influencias históricas que tanto el helenismo como la República tardorromana ejercieron sobre las doctrinas de ambos pensadores, ya que consideramos que las mismas afectaron notablemente el pensamiento de ambos filósofos cristalizando en ideas éticas totalmente contrapuestas.
dc.description.abstractAbstract: In the last years of his life Cicero began with a period of prolific philosophical production that was far from the oratorical discourses that characterized his previous intellectual production. This change of writing has motivated the realization of this work since it searches for determine which were the reasons that led Cicero to produce, at this stage, the most of his philosophical work. Judging by the acceptation that the school of Epicurus had in the Republic of the first century BC, and by the numerous allusions that Cicero made, in his philosophical writings (also called Late Writings), to epicureism, it is determined that one of the motives of Ciceronian philosophy has been the criticism of the epicurean conception of the Bonum. With this task, Cicero search for warning his fellow citizens about the danger of epicurean ethic, since, according to the arpinate, the teachings of the Hellenistic philosopher implied an enormous risk for the basis of the roman Republic. This work also emphasizes the strong historical influences that both Hellenism and the late Roman Republic exerted on the doctrines of both thinkers, since we consider that they affected significantly the thinking of both philosophers, crystallizing in absolutely opposite ethical ideas.
