Disponible en el Portal de Revistas UCALP: https://revistas.ucalp.edu.ar/index.php/persona/article/view/77/58 The Christian Revelation not only assumes the supernatural truth but also the natural one, since both have the same cause, which is God as creator and redeemer of human nature. For this reason, Christian education does not discriminate but receives in a mutual and beneficial trade the theological and philosophical conclusions. As education is "the perfect state promotion of man as a man, which is the state of virtue" (Thomas Aquinas, In Sent., IV, d.26, q.1, a.1), necessarily the culture —which is the product of education— will acquire its moral nature: since the effect is proportionate to the cause, one cannot pretend to reach a Christian culture without first seeking a Christian education. In this sense, the Catholic university plays a unique role given that “there is accomplished a public, enduring and pervasive influence of the Christian mind in the furtherance of culture and the students of these institutions are molded into men truly outstanding in their training, ready to undertake weighty responsibilities in society and witness to the faith in the world” (Vatican Council II, 1965, n. 10).
Artículo disponible en el Portal de Revistas UCALP: https://revistas.ucalp.edu.ar/index.php/persona/issue/view/43 The Church teaches us that our intellectual power is subject to the habit of faith and, therefore, the act elicited by this habit is properly intellectual. However, a series of affective movements are necessary to produce it. At the same time, this act cannot be produced without the interior movement of grace and without the concurrence of the will that moves the intellect so that it elicits the act of believing. The act of faith allows the person to be transformed by the mysteries believed and experience how divine Providence has arranged that every event be ordered to his sanctification.
Artículo disponible en el Portal de Revistas UCALP: https://revistas.ucalp.edu.ar/index.php/persona/article/view/108/81 Réginald Garrigou-Lagrange was one of the most prolific and influential theologians of the twentieth century. Throughout this article, we will review the main episodes of his life and review his most outstanding works that will allow us to understand the three fundamental pillars of his thought. These three pillars coincide with the three wisdoms —philosophical, theological and infused— cultivated by Dominican spiri-tuality. The philosophical pillar is synthesized in the affirmation of the principle of identity; the theological pillar is synthesized in the defense of the scientific status of sacred science and the mystical or infused pillar is synthesized in trinitarian inhabita-tion through sanctifying grace.
